Step 1: Confirm your safe model and brand

    Before you can use a cover key, you need to know the model and make of your safe. In many cases, the safe will have a label or tag on it with this information. This step is to ensure that you are using the correct override key, as different safes may require different types of override keys.

Step 2: Locate the cover keyhole

    On the top of the safe, locate the cover keyhole. This is usually located on the front or side of the safe. Sometimes it may be hidden in a small cover or panel underneath. Open or remove any of your items to make it easier to insert the override key.

Step 5: Open the safe
