Household fires account for 50% of global fires each year, and tens of billions of dollars are lost to households every year.
1. How does a fireproof safe work?
In the event of a fire, the outer layer of the fireproof safe will be heated first, but because the thermal insulation material of the compartment layer in the box and the door panel can provide temperature barrier, it can effectively prevent heat infection, so as to protect the valuables inside the box.
2. How much temperature and time can a fireproof safe withstand
Some fireproof safe typically able to withstand temperatures up to 1,200°F (approximately 650°C), these safes typically protect the contents of a fire for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Some premium models are able to withstand higher temperatures, possibly up to 1900°F (about 1090°C), and provide protection for a longer period of time, typically up to 1 or 2 hours.
The specific fire resistance temperature and protection time depend on the material, construction and certification criteria of the safe. It is best to check the certification information to know its fire resistance when purchasing.
3. What is the Real fire certificate
True fire certificates are issued by authoritative organizations such as Underwriters Laboratories of United States (UL), International Fire Protection Certification (ETL), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), etc. The certificate is certified according to international or national standards, such as UL 72, ETL certification, etc., which specify the temperature, time and method of testing. The certification body will provide a detailed test report on the fire resistance of the safe at high temperatures, including the test temperature, protection time and results. Safe deposit boxes will usually have a label or stamp from a certification body indicating that they meet specific fire protection standards. Counterfeit certificates may not be certified by an authoritative body, or use false certification marks. The certificate may not have clear test standards or test conditions and does not meet international or national fire protection standards, such as UL94 which is self-ignite standard not thermal insulation standard. Counterfeit certificates often lack detailed test reports or specific data to provide reliable information on fire performance of insulation. Counterfeit certificates may forge the mark of the certification body, deceive consumers, and the actual performance may not meet the advertisement.
